Passengers panic as American Airlines flight floods in midair: New fear unlocked

Freaked-out flyers feared they’d “drown” 30,000 feet above the ground. Cruising the friendly skies was just as wet as sailing the high seas for passengers on an American Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota on Dec.7. as water began flooding the cabin midair.

American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment. However, social media sure is talking about the watery ride.“The in-flight movie was Titanic,” wisecracked a content creator in the caption of a viral clip featuring footage of the soggy mishap. Visuals of the overflow scared up over 7.2 million TikTok views.Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” — which served as the theme song to the 1997 blockbuster about the luxury steamship that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912 — played in the background of the post. The video showed shocked travelers rushing to escape the gush, which seeped down the aisle towards the front of the plane due to a leak in a rear restroom. Hilary Stewart Blazevic, a passenger on the plane, claimed that a woman had used the bathroom and alerted a flight attendant to the leak, per Storyful.

But the cabin crew member was unable to quell the cascade.“It was utter disbelief and a little panic realizing they can’t shut off the water,” said Blazevic, adding that flyers grabbed their belongings off of the floor and lifted their feet to avoid the “disgusting” pool. Cringing online commenters are calling the chaos their “new ‘Final Destination’ fear” — likening the calamity to the horror movie franchise about folks narrowly evading eminent death. “Imaging drowning…on a plane…in air,” wrote a shaken spectator. “Drowning at 30,000 feet going 500mphs lol,” an equally rattled viewer remarked. “New final destination fear unlocked,” another added. But a little water — that may or may not sewage — is far from the scariest obstacle flyers endured in recent months. Jetsetters o...
