The homes of Boston Celtics star guard Jaylen Brown’s mom and an assistant coach were hit by thieves — who made off with the latter’s 2024 NBA championship ring — this week, the latest in a series of heists targeting the residences of millionaire athletes.The NBA champ’s mother and nephew were at the Wellesley, Mass., home on Dec.
15 when a window was broken by someone on the outside, according to NBC 10.Nothing was taken from the Brown household, according to police.“It did not appear that anything had been disturbed inside the residence nor did it appear that anything was taken from the residence,” Wellesley Lieutenant Marie Cleary said, the outlet reported.Brown and the Celtics were on a road trip to play the Washington Wizards in the nation’s capital.The home of Celtics assistant coach Amile Jefferson was also targeted by thieves — who made off with his freshly minted 2024 NBA Championship ring from his Newton home on Sunday, CBS News reported.No one was home at the time of the break-in, the outlet added.
Wellesley and Newton police have not announced any arrests.Celtics’ head coach Joe Mazzulla addressed the incident before the team took on the Chicago Bulls Thursday at Boston’s TD Garden.“They’re healthy, which is good So, they’re safe.It’s a scary thing, I think, for people,” he said.
