NewsNations Dan Abrams leaving primetime show opening door for Chris Cuomo to get coveted slot

NewsNation anchor Dan Abrams said he will pull the plug on his primetime show early next year — a decision that could allow Chis Cuomo to move to a slot he has coveted.Abrams cited an overcommitted schedule in announcing Thursday that he will step aside in early February from hosting “Dan Abrams Live,” which air at 9 pm ET on the upstart cable news channel.Cuomo, who precedes Abrams on NewsNation’s nightly lineup, has long been rumored to want a move to 9 p.m., reclaiming the start time of his old CNN show.Cuomo joined NewsNation in 2022 after being ousted from CNN and signed a multi-year contract, the network announced earlier this week.
