Horrific video footage shows the moment a tourist watching New Year’s fireworks out of a window in Brazil was struck by a stray sparkler — leaving her with horrifying third-degree burns on her chest.Bianca Miranda, 27, was watching the New Year’s display from an apartment in Navegantes, Santa Catarina state, with her husband when a stray shell struck her in the chest and hand.

The firework can be seen burning through Miranda’s dress as she frantically tries to snuff out the fire with her bare hand.The 27-year-old can be heard wailing in pain off camera as she and her husband put out the fire.Her husband, Victor Frasca, told local media she suffered third-degree burns to her chest, where the firework melted her skin, as well as second-degree burns to her hand.
“I burnt my hand because I tried to put out the fire,” Miranda told a local news station, according to NewsX.She added: “I was desperate.The dress stuck to my body, I had to go under the shower to try to alleviate the pain.”The couple, from Porto Alegre, Brazil, rented the apartment over the holiday so that they could take in the New Year’s fireworks, even setting up their phone on a tripod to record what was supposed to be a special moment.
Following the horrifying blast, Frasca rushed Miranda to the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Hospital, where she received emergency treatment.“It took us about half an hour to find the hospital, but we were very well taken care of,” Miranda said.“I received pain medication, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics, as well as guidance on the necessary care.”...
