Howard Eskin allegedly grabbed female employee in incident that led to his WIP radio exit

Former WIP sports radio host Howard Eskin allegedly “forcibly grabbed” a woman — who is an employee of Audacy, the station’s parent company — during an argument that escalated into an altercation on Dec.9 at Chickie’s & Pete’s following a remote broadcast, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.The Inquirer, which initially reported Thursday that Eskin, 73, shouted at a female WIP employee at the south Philadelphia restaurant, also noted that the incident led to his sudden departure from the station last month.

Audacy, at the time of his exit, described it as the sides parting ways after Eskin’s “years of contributions to WIP.”During the Dec.9 incident, Eskin and Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham were reportedly talking when the Audacy employee “interrupted” Eskin — which then prompted Eskin to yell at the employee, who he then “followed” and grabbed near the “shoulder/arm,” according to the Inquirer.That altercation was “witnessed by others at the restaurant” — though reportedly not by Graham, who has spent his entire 15-year career with the Eagles and will retire after the 2024 season — and “created a commotion,” the outlet added.When contacted by The Post on Friday, a spokesperson from Audacy declined to comment on the latest allegation against Eskin.Eskin also hasn’t commented either, according to the Inquirer.Last month, Eskin, who is the father of former WFAN program director and current WIP afternoon host Spike Eskin, announced that he was leaving the station after 38 years, writing that he departs “the station with great affection for the listeners who have made the work I do so fulfilling during my time there.”His exit, though, occurred less than two weeks after the Chickie’s & Pete’s incident and five months after Eskin was banned from Citizens Bank Park for the remainder of the Phillies’ 2024 season after attempting to give a female employee of Aramark — a food and facility services...
