Ice-T got a little hot.The rapper and “Law and Order: SVU” star had a heated exchange with law enforcement in New Jersey last May after being pulled over for expired license plates, calling a police officer a “f–king a–hole.” The verbal altercation was captured on bodycam footage obtained by TMZ and the YouTube channel Unspoken Crime Murders.
In the video, a Hudson County Sheriff’s officer begins begins by telling the rapper that he is being recorded and has been stopped because of a missing front license plate and expired tags (that turn out to have expired in 2021).Ice-T proceeds to tell the officer that he was on the way to a nearby DMV to update the paperwork on his Porsche, and that he tried to resolve the matter at the DMV the day before but couldn’t because “their system was down.” According to T, the car’s registration wasn’t up to date because it had been “parked.”“Are you sure?” the cop asks him in the footage.
“Yeah, of course I’m sure,” the rapper responds.“Yesterday I went to the DMV and they said their system’s down, so that’s why I’m here.
I got seven cars.I’m trying to get them all straight.”When asked by the officer what time his appointment was , the “SVU” star replies, “I don’t need one,” before adding, “They know me.”Prompted to provide his driver’s license, Ice-T admits to the officer that his license is also expired.
“That’s why I’m going to the DMV.You have my paperwork.
You’re fine,” he says before trying to persuade the cop to either follow him to the DMV or allow him to park his car where he was stopped and walk to the DMV.The Sheriff’s officer doesn’t agree to either suggestion.
“You don’t gotta be that serious about this.I mean you can but you don’t have to,” T says in the clip, to which the cop counters, “It is serious.”Visibly frustrated, the actor asks the cop if he’s going to “take me to jail.”“I’m not going to take you to jail...
