Jonathan Owens isn’t going to win any gold medals for his leaping display on Sunday.The Bears safety and husband of superstar gymnast Simone Biles attempted to leap into the stands at Lambeau Field during his team’s 24-22 win over Green Bay, with Fox commentators Daryl Johnston and Kevin Kugler quipping how the 11-time Olympic medalist would likely “be shaking her head when she saw that.” Owens, 29, had been celebrating a first-half fumble recovery by jumping up to the wall.Biles, 27, wasn’t far from the action, as she was seen kissing Owens on the sideline before kickoff, according to photos shared by the NFL on X.Owens is in his first season with the Bears, who concluded their disappointing 2024 campaign on Sunday at 5-12.He spent the previous season with the Packers.Biles, who married Owens in the spring of 2023, has attended some of his Bears games this season after wrapping the Gold Over America Tour in November.She competed at the Paris Olympics over the summer, adding four more medals to her collection: three gold for the individual all-around, the team all-around and the vault final; she was awarded silver in the floor exercise final.Owens was granted permission to support Biles overseas during Bears training camp.“You accomplish whatever you set your mind to, and do it with so much grace,” Owens gushed on Instagram in August.“… So proud to be your husband.”Biles was announced as Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year on Thursday and spoke about what her fourth go-around at the Olympics would have to be about to compete in Los Angeles in 2028.“Life and death,” she told Sports Illustrated.
