Seahawks Geno Smith seals $6 million in incentives with game-winning drive to beat Rams

Geno Smith had those money moves in him on Sunday. The Seahawks quarterback cashed in on the $6 million incentives in his contract during his team’s 30-25 win over the Rams in the final week of the regular season. Smith completed 20 of 27 passes for 223 yards and orchestrated a game-winning scoring drive in the fourth quarter, which was capped off by a 16-yard touchdown pass to Noah Fant with a little more than three minutes left in the game. The former Jets QB hit three separate incentives – each worth $2 million apiece – over the course of the game. He collected $2 million in the fourth quarter when he reached 4,283 passing yards for the year on a completion to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. And by leading the Seahawks to their 10th win of the year, he was able to collect $2 million more in incentives. The final $2 million came when the game was over and Smith had finished the 2024 season with a completion rate of 70.4 percent, which surpassed his 69.8 completion percentage in 2023.  The win also helped the Seahawks end the year on a positive note despite not making the playoffs. Seattle won six of their last eight games after their bye week and won back-to-back games to end the year. “I wanted to finish off the season strong.I thought we had a petty good season,” Smith said on Fox after the win.
