Krispy Kreme and Pop-Tarts plan trio of unexpected mashups: Crazy good

You do-nut want to miss this.Krispy Kreme announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration with Pop-Tarts, which will introduce three new, zany options to the dessert chain’s shelves — but only for a limited time.Called the “crazy good” line, each new donut — they are already available in participating locations — reflects a universally beloved Pop-Tart flavor.

“Krispy Kreme and Pop-Tarts are coming together for the very first time – you know the result will be crazy good,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief growth officer.“Krispy Kreme and Pop-Tarts fans will love kicking off the year with this delicious collaboration!”The first is a frosted strawberry dipped in shortbread icing and stuffed with strawberry filling.

Its outside is also topped with shortbread pieces, sprinkles, a strawberry drizzle and pieces of strawberry Pop-Tarts.Next is a frosted chocolate fudge donut that pairs chocolate icing with browner batter buttercream and crushed-up frosted chocolatey fudge Pop-Tarts.Finally, a brown sugar cinnamon donut is topped with a buttercream flavored with brown sugar cinnamon cream cheese.It is covered with frosted cinnamon roll Pop-Tarts.“Pop-Tarts aren’t just for the toaster — they can infuse culinary creativity to delight consumers,” said Jessica Waller, the general manager of Po-Tart’s parent company Kellanova Away From Home.
