Karl-Anthony Towns, Miles McBride may sit out Knicks game vs. Raptors

The Knicks have listed both Karl-Anthony Towns and Miles McBride as questionable for Wednesday’s home game against the Raptors after both sat out Monday’s loss to the Magic.Tom Thibodeau played fill-in starter Jericho Sims alongside Precious Achiuwa at times to combat Orlando’s size and offensive rebounding ability. But the Knicks missed the inside-outside presence of the 7-foot Towns, who leads the NBA with 14.0 rebounds per game while shooting a team-best 44.0 percent from 3-point range.“Obviously it’s a huge difference.

His ability to space the court, his ability to play off the catch, he really opens things up for a lot of guys,” Josh Hart said after the Knicks dropped their third straight game.“Him not being out there it’s a different pace, it’s a different game that we’re playing.“And we’ve got to recognize that and try to find ways to get easier baskets in transition, getting stops and pushing it.”With Towns missing his third game of the season due to right knee soreness, Sims totaled four points and 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.McBride has missed the past four games with a hamstring injury. When asked if Towns and/or McBride were close to playing as game-time decisions Monday night, Thibodeau replied: “Yup.

Day-to-day, and that’s part of it, so, next guy get in there.I thought Jericho gave us really good minutes.”The Raptors are reporting no injuries after former Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley didn’t play against his former team in either of two December matchups.
