Uber offering free rides to teens who flunked their driving exam

They’re getting a free ride.Uber is offering young would-be drivers who flunked their driver’s exam free access to their services — with some restrictions.“Teens, we’ve got you covered until you can take your next test,” Uber said in a written statement.The giveaway is sure to cheer up discouraged driving test takers — and parents too, who will no doubt enjoy the break from providing taxi service.

The promotion begins on Jan.9 and is only available on Uber for teens accounts.The family-friendly feature that authorizes teenagers between 13 and 17 with legal guardian consent to use the app. Parents can add a teen account to their family profile and receive alerts whenever their child requests a ride that will simultaneously follow their ride from pick-up to drop-off. According to the rideshare giant, the promotion is good for six rides, each worth a maximum of $20.

The offer is available until March 31, 2025.In addition, it’s designed to lure new riders — those already signed up and using the app won’t benefit.“This promotion is valid only for teen users who have never taken a ride or ordered from Uber and/or have an existing Uber teen account,” Uber’s site read.Interested flunkies who are new to the app have to download the car-scheduling service app or visit their website.
