Before and after: Devastation of Pacific Palisades shown in heartbreaking photos

New aerial photos show the total destruction of the once vibrant Los Angeles neighborhood known as the Pacific Palisades, large parts of which were burned to ash and dust during the historic wildfires.The celebrity-laden community once featured beautiful, million-dollar homes, palm trees, and every colorful subtly that contributes to an idyllic suburban setting.Now, jarring photos show the neighborhood resembles a bombed-out warzone with grey smoke rising from the charred remains of rectangular lots that just days ago had a median value of $2 million.The devastation was captured by drone Wednesday after the dangerous Santa Ana winds died down, allowing for the much-needed water-dropping helicopters and planes to take flight.But while the winds subsided overnight into Wednesday, officials warned that they could pick up again going into Friday.Entire blocks can now be seen devoid of any sign of life with nearly every structure in sight reduced to rubble by the mammoth blaze.

The Palisades Fire was still at 0% containment as of Thursday evening and has already burned 30,000 acres.Several celebrities count themselves among those who lost their homes in the Pacific Palisades.Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Anna Farris, Eugene Levy, and John Goodman all lost their homes that were in the once beautiful Pacific Palisades....
