Eerie images from the International Space Station show parts of Los Angeles in complete darkness — with the destructive wildfires that have left at least 10 people dead and torched an area more than twice the size of Manhattan offering the only source of light.The breathtaking images, snapped overnight Thursday, show a massive chunk of The City of Angels in blackness where thousands of homes have been destroyed or have no access to electricity.In the center of the photo, The Palisades Fire — the largest of the five wildfires still raging in west LA  — is clearly visible as a long line of flames stretching across the darkness.From Earth’s orbit, the scope and destruction of the wildfires, which have burned more than 30,000 acres, devastating LA, is distressingly evident.The Palisades Fire has burned more than 20,000 acres alongside the coast and destroyed more than 5,000 homes and structures in its path. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna described the areas impacted by the Palisades Fire as looking like “a bomb went off.”It was at 8% containment on Friday morning.Five separate fires sparked this week, and for days have ravaged more than 35,000 acres in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, causing mass destruction and evacuations. The second largest blaze, the out-of-control Eaton Fire near Pasaden, has now destroyed or damaged between 4,000 and 5,000 homes as the fire exploded to 14,000 acres on Friday, officials said. That fire remains only 3% contained, according to the latest update from Cal Fire....
