Gavin Newsom’s still going strong in the “flailing and failing” department.Goodtime Gavin already got slammed this week for his pathetic buck-passing on the city water management crisis making these horrific fires into a full-blown disaster, blaming the dry hydrants hampering firefighters on “local folks.”Next, Newsom was caught on video in a bizarre dodge: A resident of Pacific Palisades demanded to know how he intended to deal with the fact that her daughter’s school had burned down. Newsom, phone in hand, said he was “literally” calling President Biden right at that very moment — but when the woman asked him to prove it, he admitted he had no reception. When pressed, Newsom whined, “I’m doing everything I can.I will do whatever I can.”“But you’re not!” the resident shot back.Damn right — and Golden Staters know it. And even if Newsom had somehow gotten through to Biden on his no-reception phone, Joe’s just as lost as Gavin.

(A real shocker, we know.)During an absolute train wreck of a presser, Biden managed to — twice! — tell interlocutors VP Kamala Harris and Forest Service head Randy Moore to “fire away” (lamely adding, “no pun intended”).He also blamed the water crisis on … power companies shutting transmission off. That’s a claim blown up both by the utility company responsible for powering the area of LA now burning and by LA’s own public works department.(Note that the LA public works crew is likely as desperate for an excuse as the prez, just not as out of it.)Biden’s buck-passing is even worse than Newsom’s: The man’s the president of the United States!That he too is doing damage-control PR for fellow Dems as America’s second-largest city burns is appalling. And it’s yet more proof, though none was needed, that city, state and national Dems are incapable of owning their own catast...
