Chris “Mad Dog” Russo’s persistence with Timothée Chalamet paid off. The legendary radio host finally met the film star at the European premiere of his Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” on Tuesday.Russo has been trying hard to get Chalamet on his podcast to talk about Dylan’s music — and even tried to go through the actor’s father to secure a chat. Tuesday on ESPN’s “First Take,” Russo revealed Chalamet messaged him an invite to the London premiere. The radio host ended up taking his daughter Keira for her birthday. The two posted a travel blog reel to his Instagram that showed Russo going from the airport to their London hotel and getting a cab to attend the premiere at the BFI Southbank.Once there, they walked the red carpet and did some media before taking in the film.Russo at some point got to meet the 29-year-old actor, who became a hit in the sports world for his acumen in picking games on ESPN’s “College GameDay” in December. Chalamet and the SiriusXM host shared a hug backstage and took some photos standing on a yellow couch together. “Hey, man, nice to meet you,” Chalamet said to Chris Russo.
“Thanks for coming.”The only person who may not have been happy with the father-daughter bonding trip was Chris Russo’s son Colin who said he was left to house-sit in Connecticut instead. “Unbelievable.I felt punked… What a disgrace,” Colin Russo said on his ESPN West Palm Radio show.
“What a disgrace. All of the featurettes, all of the trailers, all of the news, the articles when the movie came out.
Who sent them? Who forwarded that? “Who’s idea was it to get on ‘First Take’ and to get on your knees and cry for Timothée Chalamet’s attention? Colin Russo’s idea.”...
