Evgeni Malkin’s Stanley Cup championship rings have been located in his home after being reported missing following a break-in at his Pennsylvania home. Allegheny County Police announced that the Penguins star’s rings were found inside his Sewickley Heights home after it had been burglarized on Saturday while he was playing in a game against the Senators. The three Cup rings — from Penguins championships in 2009, 2016 and 2017 — were initially believed to have been missing until the updated release on Thursday, which revealed that were located. Allegheny County Police said that “this remains an active investigation.” In a statement of his own, Malkin thanked police from both Allegheny County and Sewickley Heights for their efforts. “The outpouring of support and concern from my teammates and fans over the past few days means so much to my family and I,” Malkin said. Allegheny County Police said it received a request for assistance from the Sewickley Heights PD around 8:30 p.m.on Saturday for a residential burglary. A release from county police stated that Malkin returned from Saturday’s game to find his residence on Blackburn Road had been broken into. “County Police are in contact with impacted law enforcement agencies, and at this time, detectives have not received any information indicating this incident is tied to any of the reported organizations targeting professional athletes across the country,” police said. Concern among professional athletes has risen over their homes being broken into as the occurrence has happened with more frequency in recent months. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyler Seguin, Mike Conley Jr.
and Bobby Portis are all among the athletes who had their homes broken into.
