Two suspects allegedly posed as Amazon workers and brutally attacked an unsuspecting elderly homeowner with a sledgehammer for 8 minutes as part of a deranged home invasion in Georgia.Terrifying surveillance video captured the moment the two men approached George “Dirk” Hardison’s front door in Savannah, Ga.

on January 11.The suspected intruders were disguised in Amazon work jackets while one man carried a box as he walked down the public sidewalk.The thugs pushed their way inside and beat Hardison, 66, up for approximately eight minutes with a sledgehammer, WTOC reported, citing a police report.The box-holding intruder sprinted out of the home while still holding the package he entered with and took off running down the street.Seconds later, the second suspect ran out.The intruders only stole $80 from Hardison.Once the invaders were gone, the homeowner was heard screaming “help!” Neighbors said they found Hardison covered in blood with multiple head injuries, WTOC reports.Hardison needed 14 staples in the head following the attack.Savannah Mayor Van Johnson released a statement about the horrifying incident on Wednesday.“While this may have been a targeted attack, rest assured that we will identify those responsible for this brazen act and bring them to justice,” Johnson wrote.Police are asking for the public’s help to track down the fake Amazon workers who assaulted Hardison.“Contact SPD if you happened to see two people dressed as Amazon workers in the area around the time of the incident,” a caption on the Savannah Police Department’s Facebook page wrote.Hardison works as a bartender at O’Connell’s Pub in the tourist hotspot’s Historic District.
