Home Alone house sells for $5.5M after a 7-month contract allowed owners one last Christmas there

The famed red-brick “Home Alone” house has finally sold to its new owners — and they’re all in on its Hollywood history. The Georgian-style property in Winnetka, Illinois, famously known as the McCallister family residence in the 1990 holiday classic “Home Alone,” has sold for $5.5 million, according to Mansion Global. That’s a cool $250,000 over its original asking price of $5.25 million.Listed in May 2024, the property was snapped up in just a week, but the deal didn’t close until last Thursday after a seven-plus-month wait. Why the delay?
