Man charged with murder of pioneering NYC musician found dead inside private ambulette: police

A man has been arrested and charged in the murder of a pioneering musician whose body was found lying face-down in a pool of blood inside a private ambulette in the Bronx this week, cops announced Friday.Sharief Bodden, 29, of the Bronx, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and drug and weapon possession in connection to the death of Peter Forrest, 64, who was discovered inside the parked bus on Castle Hill Avenue around 10:30 a.m.Monday, according to police. Forrest – who was employed by the Long Island-based Marquis Ambulette – was pronounced dead at the scene and sustained trauma all over his body, authorities said. The exact circumstances behind his murder remain unclear. The victim, who lived about 5 miles away in the Allerton neighborhood, was part of the original lineup of South Bronx-based rock band 24-7 Spyz under pseudonym P.

Forrest later formed P.Fluid and the P.Fluid Foundation before launching his first solo act, BlkVampires.Forrest was a founding member of the Black Rock Coalition, according to his former girlfriend, who described him as a good person who loved music and took pride in advancing black rock.The city’s medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death, cops said....
