LOADINGERROR LOADINGSexyy Red has apologized to one of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.’s four children after reposting an AI-modified image of the civil rights leader.
While the world honored Dr.King on his annual holiday on Monday, the “Bow Bow Bow” rapper, 26, celebrated the day by posting an altered photo of herself and Dr.
King on X, formerly Twitter.Advertisement In the since-deleted image, the pair seemingly held hands as they gazed into each other’s eyes in what appeared to be a club setting.
Shortly after, Dr.King’s youngest child, daughter Bernice Albertine King, slammed the musician (real name Janae Nierah Wherry) for “dishonoring” her father by sharing the “disrespectful” photo.
“This is intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty,” King wrote on X.Advertisement She then added, “Please delete.” Red took the photo down and issued an apology in response in a separate post on Tuesday.“You ain’t wrong, never meant to disrespect your family my apologies,” she replied, explaining, “Just resposted something I saw that I thought was innocent.” The two appeared to make amends, as King later replied that she “sincerely accepted” the artist’s apology.
