Before the 2025 season, the Mets hope they have added a piece to their 2026 bullpen. On Friday, the Mets signed right-hander Adbert Alzolay, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed, to a two-year minor league contract that The Athletic first reported. Alzolay underwent Tommy John surgery in late August and is expected to miss at least the bulk of the 2025 season. The 29-year-old spent his first six seasons with the Cubs, with whom he emerged as a solid, back-end reliever who saved 22 games and posted a 2.67 ERA in 2023. He struggled last season, posting a 4.67 ERA through mid-May, before he was shut down with a forearm strain.His rehab assignment later was halted with a setback that necessitated the surgery, and the Cubs designated him for assignment....
