While the situation between the Heat and Jimmy Butler may not be a laughing matter for those involved, Kevin Love and the disgruntled Miami star both are having a ball poking fun at the drama. Butler was suspended for a third time — this time indefinitely — on Monday after he walked out of a team shootaround when he learned Haywood Highsmith would start over him, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.Love, currently Butler’s teammate despite the guard’s on-going trade request, found the humor in the whole situation and posted a video of Denzel Washington’s Academy Award-winning performance as Detective Alonzo Harris in the movie “Training Day” to his Instagram. “You think you can do this to me? You motherf–kers will be playing basketball in Pelican Bay when I get finished with you,” Washington’s Harris says in the ending scene monologue, with Love captioning his post, “Jimmy immediately after hearing he wasn’t in the starting lineup…”He added: ”#haywoodhighsmithoverme???” Butler didn’t let his teammate have all the fun, tagging Love in a post of his own involving clips of fellow characters from the ’90s sitcom “Martin” reminding their friend Tommy that he is, in fact, jobless, despite his claims otherwise.The team announced Butler’s suspension on Monday afternoon in a statement. “The Miami Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler without pay effective immediately for an indefinite period to last no fewer than five games,” the team said in a statement.“The suspension is due to a continued pattern of disregard of team rules, engaging in conduct detrimental to the team and intentionally withholding services.
