Amber Alert for 16-year-old feared to have been abducted by 40-year-old who got her pregnant

An urgent hunt is underway for a Wisconsin teen feared to have been abducted by the 40-year-old man who got her pregnant when she snuck away to his home more than 700 miles away in Arkansas.Sophia Martha Franklin, 16, is believed to be with Gary Day, 40, who is “known to be the father” of her unborn child and has a no-contact order, according to an Amber Alert issued Monday.The teen — who is three months pregnant — somehow secretly stayed with Day at his home in Cabot, Arkansas, for the last six months of last year while her family thought she was with a friend close to home in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, according to 12 News WISN.She was found in his home in December by officers conducting a probation check on Day, who was on probation for felony domestic battery charges, CBS News reported.“When they went to check on him, somebody ran out the back door, and that turned out to be a 16-year-old female from Wisconsin,” Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley said.Franklin was brought back to Beaver Dam — only to go missing this week, when a man appearing to be Day was spotted on a doorbell camera near Franklin’s home early Monday, officials said.Day was charged on Tuesday with two counts of abduction of a child and two counts of child enticement.

He does not face charges for getting the teen pregnant because the age of consent in Arkansas is 16.“Right now, we don’t know where they are,” Beaver Dam Police Chief John Kreuziger told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Wednesday.“We are getting tips from all over the place.

Our goal is to get her back as quickly as we can and as safely as we can.”Authorities believe Franklin left her home around 7:45 a.m.Monday with Day in a black 2014 Buick LaCrosse.

The vehicle has used at least two license plates, most recently Pennsylvania license plate KGW5186, though it previously used Arkansas license plate BBR20L, according to the alert....
