A Bronx father of four was fatally shot early Sunday during a clash over a car blocking his driveway, cops said. Trevor Hughes, 49, was blasted in the torso after he got into a heated exchange with Lavar Davis, 46, who sat parked in his driveway just before 2 a.m.Sunday outside his home on Fowler Avenue near Morris Park Avenue, according to authorities. A neighbor told WABC that Hughes, a father of four, often parked in his own driveway – but when he got home early Sunday, another car with two men inside, including Davis, was occupying the spot. Hughes, who was a DJ, according to his social media posts, confronted the pair before the deadly violence erupted, neighbor Akmell Edwards told the network.“They dispute this is not a driveway,” he said.
“How you could dispute this is not a driveway when it’s clearly a driveway?”Hughes was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died, police said. Davis was arrested later in the evening and charged with second-degree murder, cops said. His arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending early Monday afternoon.Edwards told WABC his slain neighbor was a hard worker who often went the extra mile for others. “If I go out to work early and there is snow, he’s going to shovel in the snow for my mother-in-law.
Well, he helped me cut the trees and do weird things in the house,” Edwards said.“I’m just, can’t even get the words.
Caught off guard, just caught off guard.”...
