Shocking video shows hit-and-run driver plow into father, 12-year-old son in Yonkers

Newly released police traffic video captured the chilling moment a father and his 12-year-old son are struck by a hit-and-run teen driver in Westchester County.The footage shows the pair crossing the street near the Cross County Center in Yonkers on Feb.
1 when a dark gray SUV blows past a stop sign and knocks the father to the ground — and drags the youngster on the pavement for several feet before speeding off.Yonkers police said the boy suffered injuries to his left torso and bruising along his left side, while his dad ended up with injuries to his left ankle, left wrist and left knee.Both were treated at a local medical center, where the young boy was admitted and treated.
Cops then set out to find the reckless driving culprit.“Members of our AWARE Crime Control Center and Field Investigative Officers initiated a criminal investigation into the incident,” the Yonkers Police Department said in a press release.“These officers reviewed hours of video surveillance from a multitude of sources and interviewed area witnesses. As a result of these efforts, the license plate affixed to the suspect’s vehicle was identified.”Four days after the incident, police pulled over 18-year-old Dylan Grant in neighboring Mount Vernon and identified him as the alleged hit-and-run driver, booking him on two counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury, a misdemeanor.Grant was released and is due back in court on Feb.
