The King of Country is returning to his rightful throne the road.George Strait just announced he’s striking out on a brief five-concert tour this summer with co-headliner Chris Stapleton.That includes a stop at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium on Saturday, June 14 for the 72-year-old hitmaker.Before that, he’ll also bring his deep back catalog — and 2024 album “Cowboys and Dreamers” — to Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, May 10.“I keep trying to slow down a bit but you keep calling me back,” Strait said in a statement.“I can’t wait to see you for a few more again this year.”At four of the five shows, Strait and Stapleton will be joined by special guest Parker McCollum; Little Big Town is slated to open for the honky tonk pair at their final gig of the year, which takes place at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on Saturday, July 19.In addition to the quick jaunt, Chris Stapleton is also headlining his annual ‘All-American Roadshow’ this summer with big names like Marcus King and The War and Treaty.Midway through Stapleton’s trek, he’ll swoop into Albany’s MVP Arena on Friday, June 20, Belmont Park’s UBS Arena on Wednesday, July 23 and NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26.Fans can purchase tickets for all George Strait shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the summer tour is Friday, Feb.
