NBAs Thompson twins completely baffle reporter Taylor Rooks in All-Star prank

Identical twins Ausar and Amen Thompson have taken the NBA by storm this season, and now, repping the same team for the 2025 Rising Stars Challenge, no one can tell them apart.The twins certainly had NBA reporter Taylor Rooks confused in San Francisco during All Star Weekend, as they wouldn’t initially reveal who was who during an interview Friday afternoon.With everything seemingly identical from the looks down to their play, what are the differences between the two?“I’m cooler,” Ausar said jokingly in the interview with Rooks.“I’m just more of a winner, even at [Overtime Elite] days, I won the MVP.
… We played [Amen], we beat him.”Amen felt a bit differently.“He’s just saying nonsense,” Amen said.“You can look at the NBA wins and see who has more wins.”Amen and Ausar were drafted fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 2023 NBA Draft, and coming out of the Overtime Elite league, fans weren’t sure what to expect out of the twins, and certainly could not tell them apart on draft night.But it’s not just the looks.
Strangely enough, Ausar and Amen are averaging near-identical stats so far in February.Ausar has averaged 14.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game for the Pistons while Amen has averaged 13.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.6 steals for the Rockets.As for the rest of the season, Amen has had the better numbers, but it’s worth noting that Ausar has only recently been unleashed as he recovers from a blood clot found last March. While there are only slight differences between the two, NBA stars like the Lakers’ LeBron James and Pistons’ Cade Cunningham recognize that the twins and their skills are unique from the majority of the NBA.“He’s a different dude, he’s not like us,” Cunningham told reporters earlier this season of Ausar’s athleticism.James echoed the sentiments, this time referencing the both of them.“Cade Cunningham said it best,” James said in January.In their...
