TCU basketball star Sedona Prince facing abuse, sexual assault allegations

While the TCU women’s basketball team is riding high with a 23-3 season, one star player is under fire amid multiple disturbing allegations.Center Sedona Prince is facing allegations of mental and physical abuse, including a sexual assault, multiple outlets reported this week.The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Prince — in the most recent incident — allegedly got into a physical altercation with a former partner on Jan.18.Both women have since filed police reports in which they both allege they were assaulted by the other.TCU campus police responded to a call from Prince about the disturbance at the player’s off-campus residence, according to her lawyer, A.
Boone Almanza.Almanza, according to the Associated Press, said no charges have been filed.However, the January incident isn’t the first to come against Prince’s name.
The Washington Post reported other abuse allegations, including one involving an ex-girlfriend last year that spiraled into a social media war and a petition to have Prince removed from the women’s basketball team.Prince, according to the outlet, is facing allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.In one 2019 incident, Prince, then at the University of Texas, allegedly locked a woman identified as Alyssa Jimmie, in a car after a first date and penetrated her with her fingers without her consent.“I’m 5-3.… She’s 6-7,” Jimmie told the Washington Post.
“If I wanted to do anything, there was no chance.”Prince, who previously played for Oregon from 2020-2022, has denied all the allegations against her through her attorney.She said she has never “abused anyone in her life, whether mentally, emotionally or physically.”“Unfortunately, others have decided to use Sedona as a launch point for their careers,” Almanza stated.TCU told USA Today that it would not comment on the allegations.“The university is aware of the allegations involving one of our student-athletes and is looking into the matter.In a...
