The lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl was quietly dismissed by her attorney Friday.Tony Buzbee, the lawyer for Jane Doe, filed a “voluntary notice of dismissal” in Manhattan federal court, ending the suit over the alleged assault from over 20 years ago.The filing doesn’t indicate whether a settlement was reached in the case.But Diddy’s lawyers said there is none.“Today’s complete dismissal without a settlement by the 1-800 attorney is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts,” the team said.
“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by an attorney more focused on media headlines than legal merit.Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them.”Still, Jay-Z and his legal team celebrated the end of the suit, filed in December, as a win — ripping Buzbee as a “1-800 lawyer.”“Today is a victory.
