St. Johns would be No. 4 seed if March Madness started today

If the NCAA Tournament started today, St.John’s would be a No.
4 seed. In the selection committee’s 16-team, made-for-television reveal, the Johnnies were slotted as the final No.4 seed in the East Region.
That means they would be headed to Newark for the second weekend if they advanced that far with a potential Sweet 16 showdown against No.1 seed Duke.St.
John’s was the lone Big East team among the top 16.It narrowly beat out Marquette and Michigan State for the last spot, committee chair Bubba Cunningham said on the show.
The Johnnies have wins over three projected at-large teams: Connecticut, Marquette and New Mexico.Their four losses have come by a combined seven points. “It would mean a lot to us, the whole staff, the community and it’s something that we’ve been working for the whole season,” junior forward Zuby Ejiofor said ahead of the announcement.
“We are trying to improve from last year and just trying to go as far as possible.We’re taking it one game at a time.”St.
John’s faces No.24 Creighton on Sunday in a game that could go a long way toward determining the regular season league title.
St.John’s leads Creighton by one game and is two ahead of No.
