Connor McDavids wife celebrates Canadas 4 Nations Face-Off final win after overtime heroics

Connor McDavid and his wife, Lauren McDavid, shared a sweet moment after he scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Canada’s 3-2 win against the U.S.in the 4 Nations Face-Off final Thursday.The couple hugged while celebrating at TD Garden in Boston, as seen in a snapshot posted to Lauren’s Instagram Story.
The Edmonton Oilers captain, who was named player of the game, wore his 4 Nations Face-Off champions shirt, hat and a gold medal around his neck.“So proud of you!!!” Lauren, an interior designer, wrote, including a clip of McDavid accepting the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off championship trophy.Another video showed the Edmonton Oilers captain hoisting the trophy with his teammates.Lauren also shared a snapshot with the WAGs of Team Canada, who sported matching red jackets on gameday.The couple tied the knot in Ontario last summer.
McDavid delivered when it mattered Thursday after a slow start.He scored 8:18 into overtime with a clear shot to the top corner of the goal after getting the puck from Mitchell Marner to secure the win for Canada.Team Canada goalie Jordon Binnington had a stellar showing with 31 total saves and six stopped shots in overtime.He had 14 saves in the third period and OT combined.Things were chippy between both sides throughout the tournament.
On Saturday, Canada lost to the U.S.in the round-robin portion of the tournament at Bell Centre in Montreal, 3-1.The Americans haven’t won a best-on-best tournament since 1996.
