A bird flying over an elementary school in Ireland dropped a severed hand from its beak last week — and authorities believe the body part may belong to a local boy recently hurt in a gas-can explosion.A report of the discovery of “partial human remains” was made to Irish police, also known as the Gardaí, at the Our Lady Immaculate School in north Dublin on Friday.The school is located in the Darndale neighborhood — where the police were already investigating a gas-canister explosion the day before that ripped off the hand of a 12-year-old boy, the Irish Mirror reported.Video footage obtained from the CCTV security cameras by the outlet showed a bird last week dropping a hand from its beak on the ground at the school.The severed hand was recovered midday Friday — as the school was out on mid-term break — and the area was quickly sealed off while police launched an investigation.Irish authorities said the hand’s owner has yet to be confirmed, but they are investigating whether it belongs to the boy.Multiple children were reportedly playing with a gas canister in Darndale on Thursday before it exploded in the hands of the 12-year-old, costing him one of his hands.“A scene is currently being held and the State Pathologist has been notified, in line with standard practice,” the Gardaí said in a statement.

“The remains will be removed for examination and DNA analysis, which will assist Gardaí in confirming the identity and determine the course of the investigation.Enquiries are ongoing.”In January, a twisted security guard in Colorado was caught carrying around a severed human hand in his pocket just one day after authorities recovered a headless body belonging to a prostitute he admitted to hiring.

Over the summer, two hands were found in a bleach-filled crockpot in the Bronx.Authorities suspected that the hands actually belonged to a torched corpse they had recovered from another crime scene in Yonkers days prior.
