Truckload of curly fries goes up in flames on busy highway

These fries are gonna be extra crispy.A truckload of curly fries went up in flames on a Maine highway on Monday, snaring traffic and no doubt ruining more than one burger-joint meal somewhere in the Pine Tree State. The York Fire Department received more than 30 911 calls over the French-fried fiasco on Interstate-95 southbound in the town of Kittery around 2:40 p.m., where they found a tractor trailer fully engulfed in fire, the department said in a Facebook post.“It was quickly determined that the cargo was frozen curly fries and not a hazardous material,” the York department said in the post.
“The trailer and the cargo were a total loss.”Firefighters needed 6,000 gallons of water to douse the flames.Traffic backed up for several hours, but no one was injured in the mishap, state police said.
