Gregg Popovich holds emotional in-person meeting with Spurs players for first time since stroke

Gregg Popovich had an “emotional” in-person meeting with Spurs players before officially announcing he would miss the rest of the NBA season, according to a new report.The legendary San Antonio coach’s “NBA future remains uncertain as he recovers” from a stroke suffered in early November, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported. “I’ve decided not to return to the sidelines this season,” Popovich said in a statement Thursday.“Mitch Johnson and his staff have done a wonderful job and the resolve and professionalism the players have shown, sticking together during a challenging season, has been outstanding.
