An accused serial killer allegedly gunned down six random strangers in Chicago when he was just 17 — with cops admitting there may have been more.Antonio Reyes was already in custody for a 2020 killing when prosecutors on Thursday announced five additional murder charges — as well as four attempted murders, including three kids ages 3 to 9.“None of these people had ever met Antonio Reyes before, and there’s no reason to suspect Antonio Reyes had any reason to target them,” Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke told reporters at a press conference, according to USA Today. “One victim was killed when he went to the gas station to buy a pop.… Another victim was sitting in a parked car with a friend on Palm Sunday afternoon.

… Another victim’s only crime was taking his family to buy a new puppy one afternoon,” she said.The accusations against Reyes, now 21, are for a killing spree over nine months in 2020 on the Windy City’s Southwest Side.The murder victims were all between the ages of 16 and 31. “These were six lives that were brutally taken,” Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said.

“It’s difficult to comprehend how anyone could easily take someone’s life and especially so many in one year.… Who knows how many he may have been responsible for?”Reyes has been in police custody since 2021 for the murder of Luis Davalos, who was shot in the head in June 2020, according to the Chicago Sun Times.The attempted murder charges include the three children of one of the victims who was shot dead withe the kids in his car.Since his arrest, Reyes is also accused of trying to kill his cellmate with a shank, and those charges are pending, prosecutors alleged, NBC reported.He is being held without bail....
