A Long Island daycare worker pushed an 18-month old girl’s face onto a cot, sending “blood gushing” and leaving the tot with stitches, cops and another employee say.Megan Marchena, 26, of Massapequa was working at Tutor Time Child Care and Learning Center off Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst when she allegedly committed the crime Feb.24 after the little girl kept getting up while she was supposed to be napping, fellow staff member Raven Griffin told News12.“The last time she slammed her down, the little girl hit her mouth on the cot.

After [the child] hit her mouth, she started crying,” said Griffin, who rushed over to help the toddler before she was sent to Good Samaritan Hospital.“There was blood gushing all down her chin out of her mouth,” Griffin said.Marchena was arrested on assault and child endangerment charges Feb.28, the same day Child Protective Services launched an investigation.She pleaded not guilty, had bail set at $5,000 and is due back in court Thursday, the outlet reported.Over the weekend, Tutor Time, which put both Marchena and its director on administrative leave, sent parents a letter stating, “We are working with authorities.“All of our staff members are expected to uphold our high standards of care, and we do not tolerate any deviation from these standards.”...
