Freshman Texas rep wants to pay homage to Trump by putting his face on $100 bill

A freshman GOP congressman from Texas wants to pay homage to President Trump — by putting his face on the $100 bill once his second term wraps up.Rep.Brandon Gill introduced the Golden Age Act of 2025 on Monday, a proposal that would require every new $100 bill to showcase Trump’s mug in lieu of Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, who is now so synonymous with the bills that they’re nicknamed “Benjamins.”“President Trump could be enjoying his golden years golfing and spending time with his family,” said Gill, 31, who was first elected to Congress last year, in a statement.“Instead, he took a bullet for this country and is now working overtime to secure our border, fix our uneven trade relationship with the rest of the world, make America energy independent again, and put America first by ending useless foreign aid,” Gill said. But the proposed legislation is very likely to be dead on arrival in the Senate thanks to a Democratic filibuster, which requires 60 votes to overcome it.
