Brute who sexually assaulted, bludgeoned and permanently disfigured Calif. mom walks free: Justice was not served

A California brute who sexually assaulted, bludgeoned and permanently disfigured a mother during a heinous daytime attack in front of her young daughter will walk free – after the victim, prosecutors and other law enforcement officials begged the judge to hand down the maximum sentence of nine years behind bars.Trevor Lee Colombano, 38, was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Dana Simonds to probation for the Oct.30, 2023 assault in Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office announced.Simonds cited the fiend’s cannabis consumption, stress and mental health issues during the attack as contributing factors for him to avoid jail time, despite the maniac pleading no contest to assault with a deadly weapon, sexual battery and mayhem, prosecutors said.“Justice was not served in this case,” District Attorney Carla Rodriguez said in a statement.“The victim was walking her dog on a public street in Sonoma County and minding her own business when Mr.
Colombano viciously attacked her while her 13-year-old daughter and [cousin] looked on.This woman will be permanently scarred for the rest of her life, both physically and emotionally.
Her daughter and [cousin’s] sense of safety and well-being will never be the same.”Prosecutors said Colombano approached the victim, who was a stranger, from behind and rubbed his erect penis on her buttocks as she was walking her dog with her daughter and cousin, both 13 years old.The victim attempted to fend Colombano off when the deranged lunatic started beating her in the head with a closed fist before using a landscaping rock to repeatedly bash her in the face.He also ripped off the victim’s shirt and bra during the savage beating, the DA’s Office said.The ruthless thrashing ended when two bystanders pulled the violent loon off the victim and pinned him to the ground until Santa Rosa police arrived.The victim was permanently disfigured and required 17 sutures and 5 staples to treat several lacerations...
