Scott Peterson, infamous wife-killer, beat up by fellow inmate during prison yard pickleball match: report

Infamous wife-killer Scott Peterson got beat up by a fellow inmate during a prison yard pickleball match on Sunday, according to a report.Peterson, 52, was playing a game of pickleball at Mule Creek State Prison in California when another prisoner took exemption to the convicted murderer’s playing style and served him up a butt-whooping, TMZ reported. The inmate was reportedly set off by Peterson smashing the ball directly at his body during the match — and aired his grievances in the form of hooks and jabs, according to the outlet.Though he suffered injuries, he did not need to go to the hospital, the TMZ reported, citing prison sources.Peterson was convicted in 2004 of killing his 8-months-pregnant wife Laci who vanished on Christmas Eve in 2002. Laci was initially reported as missing from the family’s Modesto, Ca., home — but her body was found in the San Francisco Bay in April 2003, a few miles from where Peterson had told police he had gone fishing. He was arrested just days after her body was found. The apparent pickleball enthusiast was convicted of first-degree murder of Laci and second-degree murder of the couple’s unborn son Conner in 2004, though he has continued to claim that he is innocent.“[I]f I have a chance to show people what the truth is, and they are willing to accept it, it would be the biggest thing that I can accomplish right now — because I didn’t kill my family,” Peterson said in a 2024 three-part Peacock docuseries called “Face to Face with Scott Peterson.”Last year, Peterson’s case was reinvigorated by the Los Angeles Innocence Project, which advocated for the convicted killer to enter a discovery process to attempt to prove his innocence.Peterson is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. The case famously inspired the bestselling book and award-nominated film “Gone Girl.”Mule Creek State Prison did not respond to a request for comment....
