Livvy Dunne calls out troll over snide LSU comment: Why do you care?

Olivia “Livvy” Dunne took a troll to task this week after a snide remark about her fifth and final season at LSU.In response to a comment made about last week’s senior night celebrations that read, “Don’t worry, you’ll be a senior for the next 10 years,” the star gymnast and social media sensation put the critic on blast with the simple question of: “Why do you care?”“I don’t really understand what’s so hard to get,” Dunne began in the nearly minute-long video shared with her 8 million TikTok followers.“I came to college in 2020, got granted a fifth-year because of COVID and I came back for the fifth year.I only see this comment on female athletes’ posts, and why do you care if I come back for a fifth year and have another year of eligibility? Like why do you care?”Dunne, coming off a national championship run with LSU’s gymnastics team, then called attention to football and basketball players red-shirting and taking “fifth years all the time,” including a certain Tiger.“The starting quarterback of LSU [Garrett Nussmeier] is coming back for a fifth year, this comment is nowhere to be found on his account,” she said.
“People commenting stuff like this obviously were never a college athlete or never loved a sport, so, like, you’re not funny.Why do you care what I’m doing with my life? Please stop.”The 22-year-old athlete concluded the video by telling detractors who have called it “greedy” to return, that her scholarship went elsewhere.“To the people saying it’s greedy to come back, I gave up my scholarship to somebody else so I can come back.
