NWSL to be aired on MSG Networks for third straight year

With the NWSL season just days away from starting, Gotham FC locked in a deal with MSG Networks to be their local broadcasting partner for the third straight year.As part of the one-year deal, announced Thursday, fans will have a chance to watch eight of this season’s Gotham FC matches on MSG Networks from the comforts of their couch.MSG’s lineup features three road matches and five home games.Its first broadcast is scheduled for Gotham’s April 18 contest against Angel City in Los Angeles.

MSG is also set to air Gotham’s Oct.19 home finale against Racing Louisville.MSG’s coverage of Gotham will include additional programming — such as features, interviews and other team content.“We are excited to renew our partnership with MSG Networks and continue the very important local broadcast coverage of our team,” Gotham’s chief business officer Ryan Dillon said in a statement.

“Our club has World Cup winners and Olympic gold medalists pushing to bring another championship back to our region, and MSG does a fantastic job telling the incredible stories of our athletes while enhancing awareness and visibility around Gotham FC.”MLS commentator Callum Williams and former NWSL player Darian Jenkins will return as the broadcast duo for Gotham’s games on MSG.The announcement comes just two days before Gotham is set to open its season in Seattle.After a worst-to-first turnaround to win the NWSL title in 2023, Gotham put together one of its best regular seasons in club history.

The team went 17-5-4 to finish third in the NWSL standings.he group — headlined by Esther Gonzalez, Rose Lavelle and Emily Sonnett — set club records for points (56) and fewest goals conceded (20).Gotham had several key players leave this offseason — including Delanie Sheehan, Yazmeen Ryan and Jenna Nighswonger.
