ESPN personality Molly Qerim was candid about her experience with endometriosis in a rare public message on Instagram Tuesday night.The “First Take” host, who acknowledged that March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, revealed she underwent surgery for endometriosis after a 12-year battle with the disease.“I really hesitated on posting this, b/c I’m a very private person…but if I can help even 1 person…it’s worth it,” Qerim wrote.“Dr Kanayama, you are an answer to 12 years of prayer.

Masahide Kanayama of the New York Endometriosis Center, who performed her surgery.Endometriosis is the growth of abnormal tissue located outside of the uterus that can cause pain, irregular periods and infertility, per the New York Endometriosis Center.It affects over 10 million women in the United States alone, according to the New York Endometriosis Center.Qerim also shared a screenshot of a message sent by Kanayama after the surgery.“Surgery was super difficult and delicate, but God listened to your prayer, and I was supernaturally sustained with His wisdom and strength by God’s grace,” the note read.
