Aaron Rodgers visiting Steelers as free agency saga takes new twist

Aaron Rodgers has gone from the beaches of Malibu to the Steel City.The ex-Jets quarterback is visiting the Steelers’ facility on Friday and is expected to meet with their coaching staff and personnel as his free agency waiting game continues, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.ESPN’s Adam Schefter added Friday “no deal at this time is close,” citing a source.The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette also noted: “A commitment from Rodgers may not come today, if at all, and he is just visiting with team owner Art Rooney II, coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan.”The Steelers and the equally quarterback-needy Giants have heavily pursued Rodgers, 41, this offseason following his release from the Jets.The Vikings — a reported preference of the four-time league MVP — indicated this week they’re moving forward with J.J.McCarthy under center.
