Celebrity chef reveals what US supermarkets have that other countries dont

One of Australia’s most recognizable celebrity chefs has revealed the biggest difference between supermarkets around the world – and it’s simpler than you think.Curtis Stone, who is a Coles ambassador and currently in Australia promoting the brand’s new collectibles range, told news.com.au there is a very simple difference between supermarkets in Australia and those overseas.Stone, who is married to American actress Lindsay Price, splits his time between Australia and the United States.“The biggest difference is a pretty simple one — it’s representative of the country,” he told news.com.au.“When you think about supermarket choices in Australia there are differences between them, but when you go to some in England or America, there are some that are very specialized and some that are very broad-massed.”He said the difference was that in places like America they have Walmart on one side of the spectrum and then supermarkets such as Whole Foods, which prides itself on being an “organic grocer”.He explained there was a “giant gap” between these two options.“We don’t have that giant gap, which I think means our supermarkets place in more areas,” he said.Stone also pointed out that Australia has “unbelievable” produce when it comes to seafood and meat.“The thing that I love about working with Coles is we serve everyone.We serve the country really well, and that means finding great quality, great value.
