Viral March Madness sensation Amir Khan hangs with Spike Lee, gets six-figure NIL offers

Among the unlikeliest stars of this year’s March Madness has been McNeese State student manager Amir “Aura” Khan, whose popularity exploded following the team’s first-round upset of Clemson.Prior to McNeese’s second-round game against Purdue on Saturday, Khan was pictured alongside Spike Lee, and the CBS broadcast said he’d received over 100 calls from companies looking to work with him, including NIL offers in “the low six figures.”He’d already signed deals with Buffalo Wild Wings, TickPick, Insomnia Cookies and Topps trading cards and is due to be featured on his own card for a limited time. Known for leading the team out with a boom box blasting “No Switch” by NBA YoungBoy, Khan has also been assigned three security guards, according to CBS.The boombox tradition began earlier this season, but went viral last month, when the team’s social media account posted a video.“It gets our guys excited and it gets our guys ready to get off to a fast start,” McNeese State coach Will Wade told CBS.And the team’s cheerleaders wore socks with Khan’s face on them for the Clemson game.Khan previously said he’s been surprised by what’s happened.“It means a lot,’’ Khan told Fox Sports after the first-round win.“I never expected any attention as a manager, so to receive all of the love and support I received over the last few weeks really means a lot to me.
But I’m really focused on trying to do what I do for the team and helping them do what they can on the court.”That includes doing some dirty work, with Khan noting in his school bio, “If they kept manager stats for rebounding and wiping up wet spots, I’d put up Wilt Chamberlain numbers.”...
