The Issue: Top government officials including a journalist in a group chat discussion about war plans.President Trump has consistently chosen the least qualified candidates for the most critical roles in government, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth a prime example.(“Trumpies Own This Snafu,” Editorial, March 26).So it’s no surprise that a major security breach occurred — where sensitive war plans about military strikes in Yemen were shared in a group chat, and no one even realized the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic was included.We need a defense secretary with the skills and knowledge to manage the largest workforce on the planet and ensure the safety of all Americans.
