Not the royal treatment.The former editor of Vanity Fair, Graydon Carter, eviscerated Meghan Markle by calling her the “Undine Spragg of Montecito,” seemingly in reference to her life after splitting from the royal family and moving with Prince Harry across the pond back to her native California.Carter unleashed the five-word tongue lashing when asked for his gut reaction to the Duchess of Sussex, 43, in a writeup for Interview magazine published on Thursday, March 27.The famous journalist’s answer was likely a comparison to Undine Spragg, a character featured in Edith Wharton’s 1913 novel “The Customs of the Country,” a social-climbing female who moves from the Midwest to try to make it in New York City’s high society.
