Red Sox fan Dave Portnoy rails against Yankees torpedo bats: Doesnt mean you suddenly got better

One bat, everybody knows the rules. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy fumed over the Yankees’ new Torpedo bats in a more than two-minute rant posted on X on Sunday night. The new bats have caused quite a stir around Major League Baseball, especially after the Yankees clobbered a franchise-record nine home runs in a thumping of the Brewers on Saturday, and Portnoy couldn’t help but offer his two cents on Sunday after the Bronx Bombers hit four more to help sweep the series. “The Yankees hired an MIT physicist to basically take wood from the other part of the bat – near the handle and label and put it in the sweet spot – making the sweet spot bigger. They did this because Anthony Volpe sucks and he kept getting jammed and sawed off,” Portnoy said.
