Knicks Karl-Anthony Towns sits due to knee soreness: day to day

The Knicks showed plenty of bark without their KAT.Karl-Anthony Towns, who has carried the load during Jalen Brunson’s 13-game absence with an ankle injury, was a game-time scratch Tuesday before a 105-91 victory against the lowly 76ers at Madison Square Garden.Towns averaged 34.5 minutes over the 13 games since he was last inactive during a loss to the Warriors on March 4.He is dealing with left knee soreness and missed his eighth game of the season.

“It was a timely play.It was a much-needed play for us.,” Thibodeau said.

He makes plays like that to get the team inspired and get you going.”New Jets quarterback Justin Fields was sitting courtside and tossed an autographed football into the stands after...
