Supermarket mogul John Catsimatidis has made an offer that democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani shouldn’t refuse: Test your government-run grocery socialism now.Lefty mayoral candidate Mamdani wants to open city-run supermarkets; Cats has agreed to pilot the program, with one big caveat: “If they want to try an experiment, I will be helpful — as long as the city makes up the shortfall for shoplifting,” Catsimatidis told The Post.Why wait? Do it now — Zohran can cover any losses from his own deep family pockets.After all, if it works, it’ll be a big political winner, right?We long to see him try to run a going concern under city procurement processes, public-employee work rules and so on.

It’ll no doubt be as customer-friendly as the DMV and the Post Office and as safe and wholesome as NYCHA projects.Really, Zohran, you should try.
